Unforgiven main event is hit

September 8, 2008

Hot on the heels of Summerslam came WFW Unforgiven, with Eddie Guerrero looking to retain the title he had won at Summerslam after Chavo Guerrero betrayed JBL and the Corporation in favour of his uncle. However, Eddie's form hadn't been good since Summerslam, and came into the match on the back of defeats to Chris Jericho and Mr Kennedy, one of his opponents in a Barbed Wire Hell in a Cell Fatal 4-Way at Unforgiven. Rob Van Dam was the man on form, having won two matches at Warzone to qualify for the event. Warzone Champion Mr Kennedy was looking to be the first man to achieve a Grand Slam of titles in the WFW, and after losing his belt at Summerslam, JBL was obviously entitled to his rematch.

The first action of the night came in the form of a Dark Match. ECW's Sandman, accompanied by Paul Heyman, beat Kane in less than five minutes, with a White Russian Leg Sweep finishing the match. Sandman was signed by the WFW on a part-time contract after getting an excellent reception at ECW One Night Stand, and his role is unlikely to change in the near future. He has teamed with...

Kennedy eventually gets his gold

August 25, 2008

After making a challenge to Hardcore title champion Rob Van Dam earlier today, Mr Kennedy fought the title holder in an Empty Arena match for the title. There were weapons all around ringside, a referee and a few WFW officials overlooking the match.

In total, the match was 7 minutes and 28 seconds long, and started with aggression from Rob Van Dam. Van Dam was responsible for some high kicks before Kennedy countered with a DDT on Van Dam. Whilst Mr Friday Night was on the mat, Kennedy grabbed some wood with barbed wire from outside the ring and hit Van Dam around the head with it, knocking him straight back down, but Kennedy was unsuccessful in his pinfall attempt. Kennedy then left the ring for a trash can to use to knock Van Dam out, but Van Dam scored with a high kick to the trash can that knocked Kennedy down. Van Dam then put the trash can over Kennedy when he stirred and delivered kicks to the trash can, knocking Kennedy outside, and the two took their fight into the seats, where weapons had been laid out. Just as Van Dam was about to attempt a Spear, Kennedy...

Titles change hands, new superstar signs and a screwjob

August 18, 2008

The biggest party of the summer turned out to be a very eventful one with the first ever Summerslam in the WFW. The night got off to a good start with the dark Battle Royal. A collection of freaks, giants and oddities fought it out for the win. It was rumoured that the winner would earn a contract in the WFW, and the man that won was the Largest Athlete in the World, the Big Show, who was victorious over the rest of the freaks. Big Show was dominant in the match, eliminating nine other competitors before finally getting the better of Kamala to win the match before Summerslam went on air. So will we be seeing more from the Big Show?

The pay-per-view proper started with a match between Chris Jericho and Batista. The result didn't really surprise anyone, with Batista mostly on top for the majority of the match, with Jericho unable to keep up with the pace of the Animal. A Batista Bomb five minutes in was enough to give Batista the win after he rolled up Jericho for the three count. Batista has been in the shadow of Triple H and Eddie Guerrero in recent weeks...

Bobby Lashley declared WFW's hottest property!

July 11, 2008

In a recent survey of the millions (and millions) of WFW's fans, our research has shown that it is the Dominator Bobby Lashley that has the most fans. Lashley sells the most merchandise from the WFW shop, and apparently also gets the best reactions from the crowd. Stone Cold Steve Austin and Eddie Guerrero are close contenders, with Rob Van Dam and The Undertaker also very popular.

Also, the WFW crowd would like to see more heel wrestlers. The best heel wrestlers, according to the fans, are deemed to be JBL and Mr Kennedy, but the crowds apparently want more people to hate. However, although the fans love to hate Mr Kennedy, one serious worry has been expressed about him holding both the Warzone title and the Intercontinental title. A lot of fans are unsure what each title represents, and they don't know which one is more valuable.

Another criticism of the WFW involved the Road Dogg and Mr Ass. Both wrestlers moving to the Corporation was seen as an unpopular move by a lot of the WFW fans, and they feel that the mic skills of the Road Dogg are being under-utilised in the Corporation, as the Outlaws now...

Chavo: Corporation got a taste of their own medicine

July 1, 2008

After the controversial events at Night of Champions, Eddie Guerrero left Seattle, Washington as the new WFW champion, for the first title of his career, much to the chagrin of the Corporation members present. The reaction of the fans was quite mixed, although a lot seemed to be in favour of Eddie's usurpation of the title. The general consensus of the WFW fans who have been contacting the website believe that Eddie deserved his title for his hard work over the last few weeks. In fact, many fans were more upset by the actions over Randy Orton and the Corporate Outlaws on Sunday night. Even Bobby Lashley seemed to take the defeat well, although as yet we have had no word from JBL over the matter.

Chavo Guerrero certainly wants to have his say to try and explain his family's actions.

"There is no way that anyone can blame us for what happened on Sunday night. Me and Eddie were about to beat Santino and Funaki when the Outlaws stuck their noses into our business. Suddenly,  they had got back at us and we'd lost our chance at tag gold. Then as soon as we got backstage, the Road Dogg...

Controversy as WFW title changes hands

June 30, 2008

With careeers on the line and every title up for grabs at Sunday's Night Of Champions PPV, Sunday was always going to be an eventful night. However, it seems that the repercussions of the events will be felt for weeks to come, as controversial matches and title changes occurred, not to mention the conclusion of two great careers.

First, we'll concentrate on the careers ending. Triple H was defeated in a dark by Batista in what was a repeat of the match two weeks earlier. As a result of this, Triple H has been forced to leave the WFW with immediate effect. Tripe H had seen tag success with Batista in the WFW but had made little impact overall, resulting in this match. However, the departure that would have the most impact on the WFW is that of former champion Hulk Hogan. Hogan was involved in a Two Poles match against Randy Orton that sees Orton win a title shot and Hogan wins a contract with TNA. Hogan then got beaten down by Randy Orton before being saved by Batista and Mr Perfect. The departure of Hogan certainly sees the end of one of the biggest problems for Vince McMahon,...

Lashley beats champion but gets Stunnered.

June 21, 2008

Friday night in Boston Massachusetts certainly saw the WFW fans in New England served with a lot of entertainment. As well as the battle for title contendership shaping up nicely, we also saw two superstars leaving the WFW (well one superstar and one other personality).

The first match of the night saw the Animal, Batista, taking on Triple H, in a Loser Gets Fired match. After Evolution had successfully won the first ever WFW Tag Team titles, things were looking good for the pair just a few months ago, until numerous defeats by the Brothers of Destruction left Triple H with numerous issues with Batista. Losing the Tag titles to the Brothers saw Triple H finally snap and deliver a Pedigree to Batista. Both men put their differences aside last week to take on Eddie and Chavo Guerrero, but yet another defeat saw Triple H lose his cool again, leading to this confrontation. In the end, it was The Game that prevailed, putting Batista to rest with a vicious Pedigree and gaining a pinfall. The result means that Batista will no longer be part of the WFW, although to be honest he never made much of an impact anyway, and...

Los Guerreros revel in Mexico, Corporation success

June 16, 2008

The schedule for the Night of Champions Pay-Per-View became a lot clearer on Friday night, with two title contenders becoming a lot clearer after the recent event. The stars of the show were definitely the tag team partners of Eddie and Chavo Guerrero, who made easy work of the tag team of Evolution. Eddie Guerrero let his nephew Chavo Guerrero take part in most of the match, and Chavo coped excellently against the Animal Batista and The Game. In the end, a Frog Splash from Chavo Guerrero on the Animal was enough to see off Evolution, and secured Los Guerreros a title shot, as well as a Superstar of the Week award for Chavo Guerrero. After the match, a verbal confrontation between Triple H and Batista led to The Game delivering a Pedigree to the animal, and an attack with his sledgehammer. As well as a tag team title shot, Eddie Guerrero may well be putting himself back into contention for a shot at the WFW title. He has already been named as one of the possible contenders for the title.

Mr Kennedy.....Kennedy also managed to earn himself a title shot at NOC. Kennedy defeated Mr Perfect to become the...

Corporate Outlaws and title belt stolen?

June 8, 2008

Saturday Night Warzone wasn't expected to be as entertaining and shocking as an event, but those people that turned up in El Paso last night had all the entertainment in the world, and the backlash of Saturday night could be with us for a few weeks yet!

The night started fairly tamely, with Hulk Hogan making quick work of the 'Animal' Batista. Batista was never really in the match, and Hogan was in control throughout the match, finishing him off with an Atomic Leg Drop and pinning Batista for the three count. It should be noted that after winning four times in a tag team effort with Triple H, Batista technically has an Intercontinental title shot, although on the form he is in, he is unlikely to pose much of a threat to Stone Cold Steve Austin. Hogan has been out of any title pictures in the WFW for some time now, and isn't involved in any storylines. Will Hogan be returning to main events anytime soon?

One man who could easily be returning to the spotlight soon is the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels, who returned to action Saturday night, with the Texas born superstar even getting some cheers from...

RVD put in main event match!

June 2, 2008

After winning a WFW contract at ECW One Night Stand thanks to victory over Road Dogg, Rob Van Dam has immediately been placed in a match for the WFW Championship against JBL next Friday at Warzone! The Van Daminator was in fine form as he did enough to ward off the Road Dogg and climb the ladder to pick up his WFW contract, and the popular superstar has immediately been thrown into the deep end for this Friday against JBL.

JBL himself retained the title at One Night Stand thanks to a victory over Bobby Lashley with a big assist from Shawn Michaels and Vince McMahon in a TLC match. Despite being dominant for a lot of the match, Bobby Lashley was kept in check by the Corporation for much of the match, and the wrestling god JBL ended up victorious, much to the dismay of most of the San Diego crowd. With Lashley's rematch clause now over, there is no real number one contender for the title of JBL, so for the moment, the Corporation's power looks incredibly strong, providing RVD doesn't defeat JBL on Friday night of course. Bobby Lashley and Stone Cold Steve Austin will be the...
